From One Roof Box to an Idea
In April 2021 we started with just one roof box and one set of roof bars.
The box was originally purchased simply to give us more storage space for travelling with our young family — a 5-year-old and a 3-year-old — while trying to make the most of trips away during a very uncertain time.
Before long, an idea began to form.
At the time we were both studying, working full-time jobs, and raising a young family during a global pandemic. Like many people, we were looking for a way to create something positive out of a challenging period.
Spotting the Problem
While researching our own roof box setup, we quickly realised how difficult it was to source the right equipment.
Finding compatible roof bars, footpacks and fitting kits for different vehicles was confusing, time-consuming, and often expensive.
So we asked ourselves a simple question:
Could we simplify the experience and make it more affordable for families like ours?
A Small Idea Takes Off
We started by advertising our single roof box on Gumtree and social media.
Before long our first hire booking came in — followed by more and more enquiries. It became clear there was real demand for a simple, affordable way for people to get extra storage for holidays, camping trips and family adventures.
What began as one roof box soon grew into something much bigger.
We invested in more roof boxes, roof bars, footpacks and fitting kits to support a wide range of vehicles, choosing trusted brands like Thule to ensure customers receive safe, reliable equipment every time they hire from us.
Growing the Adventure
As the business has grown, so has our vision.
We’ve expanded into TentBox roof tents and camping equipment, helping people turn almost any vehicle into an adventure setup. Whether it’s a weekend camping trip, a family holiday, or a road trip across the country, we want to make it easier for people to get away and enjoy the outdoors.
Next up is the addition of a VW campervan hire, giving customers even more ways to travel and explore.
From one roof box to a growing adventure business, our journey has always been driven by the same goal — making travel simpler, more accessible, and more enjoyable for everyone.
